Convenience is the case for Function
Function Health is worth considering if arranging broad laboratory testing is the problem you want solved. Its membership describes more than 160 tests across the year, written clinician review, and annual and mid-year testing. [1] The panel count alone is a poor reason to enroll.
The displayed $365 price needs care. Function's membership page shows that annual amount, while its pricing page also uses first-year language and an offer footnote that expired in October 2026. Get the current checkout and renewal quote before committing. [1] [2]
The bundle can simplify access
Function describes collection through Quest Diagnostics and optional home collection in selected areas. [1] That arrangement can appeal to someone who wants appointments and results brought together. It is less valuable when it duplicates testing you already receive appropriately through your clinician.
Check which markers repeat at mid-year and what the collection schedule requires. Two testing rounds should not be assumed to mean the identical full panel twice. The practical commitment includes appointments and follow-up, not just the membership payment.
Extras change the complete bill
Optional imaging, additional tests and home collection sit outside the standard membership description. Access to member pricing does not mean those services are included. The pricing page also excludes New York and New Jersey from its described offer. [2]
Confirm eligibility for your address before comparing costs. Allow for outside assessment or confirmatory testing if an unexpected result needs attention. A written explanation is helpful, but it does not settle who will take responsibility for diagnosis and ongoing treatment.
Choose decisions over a biomarker count
Broad testing can uncover findings without establishing that acting on every flag improves health. The USPSTF, for example, finds insufficient evidence to determine the net benefit of routine vitamin D deficiency screening in asymptomatic adults. That does not dismiss clinically indicated testing; it limits the universal screening claim. [3]
Choose InsideTracker instead if you mainly want to organize compatible results you already have. Choose Function when bundled access is the useful gap, the current quote is clear and follow-up is arranged. The real value is a result you can use appropriately, not a longer list to monitor.
A smaller set of appropriate tests can be the stronger purchase when it answers the question you brought.
Understanding the cost
Pages display $365 annually, but pricing page also labels first-year pricing and an offer that expired October 8, 2026. Current checkout and renewal quote are needed. Imaging, add-ons and optional home draws may cost extra.
